Dir. Heather Benton

This project is a devised piece/workshop using the text of Big Love by Chuck Mee as a starting point. Director Heather Benton describes it as "exploring the complexity of love, dysfunctional relationships and the ferocity forged by heartache through a non-binary lens." For this project I am acting as the scenic designer as well as an artistic writing collaborator for the production.

This project is very near and dear to me as a non-binary theater creator. I have the opportunity to share my lived experience in regards to identity and relationships.

Mad Forest written by Caryl Churchill in 1990 is a play following the 1989 Romanian Revolution. In 3 distinct parts, Churchill depicts the lives of the Romanian people before, during and after the revolution to overthrow the dictatorship of Ceausescu.

In collaboration with director Danica Selem, I designed a set guided by 2 goals, creating a mystical/allegorical world to live in and paying homage to the historical and cultural context of the piece.
